The legend of the Maní Indian woman

Manioc originated in the Brazilian Amazon before Christ and from there spread to other countries in South and Central America. A popular legend about its origins says that an Indian woman named Maní died as a baby and was buried in her hut (Maní-oca). From her grave sprouted the plant that earned her name.

Rich in fiber, potassium, calcium and iron, it also has a lot of vitamin K, important for strengthening bones and also for the production of collagen, important for cartilage and tissues in general, and is gluten-free.
